Job Title: Casual adult Support worker/Personal Assistant

Hours per week: Casual/ bank hours to cover extra hours, sickness and annual leave as and when required

Location: Colwyn Bay, Conwy

Rate of pay:  £14.80 per hour

About me:

We are looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Bank Support Workers to support a 26 year old male with learning disabilities, autism and additional support needs to live a fulfilling life within the community. Flexibility will be required to work bank shifts, including evenings and weekends and sleep in shifts. There is potential for the role to transition to regular hours in the future.

Task and duties, to include any or all the following:

Supporting the individual to do Community activities and social outings

Supporting the individual to take part in Sports, fitness and leisure activities

To support with going for walks and exploring local areas

To support with Developing independence and life skills

 

Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed.

 

Undertake any further training, as mutually agreed.

The kind of person I am looking for is someone who:

         Has a full driving license and class 1 business insurance, a vehicle is provided.

Will promote and support confidence and independence.

Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs is desirable but not essential.

         Be patient, caring and compassionate

         Have a positive attitude.

        Be able to build trusting relationships through shared interests

      Has a person-centered approach and a genuine interest in supporting people to       achieve their goals.

Can follow instructions and will establish a professional standard of care, to be always maintained.

Will not use their personal mobile phone at work unless in an emergency.

Is trustworthy, kind, punctual and reliable.

Is patient and supportive with good listening skills and an ability to provide non-judgmental emotional support.

Maintains confidentiality and respects the privacy of the family, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.

Can work flexibly, adapting to the variable requirements of this role as required.

 

 

The role is dependent upon a DBS and 2 references.
