About the Role

We are a family seeking a reliable, calm, and understanding Personal Assistant to support our 14-year-old son, who has ADHD and some behavioural challenges. The role is centred around providing positive, structured weekend support that helps him build confidence, develop safe and polite communication skills, and engage meaningfully within the community.

The PA will create a supportive and trusting relationship with him, encouraging independence, emotional regulation, and positive experiences outside the home. The role also provides valuable respite for the rest of the family.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide 1:1 support for 3 hours each Saturday and Sunday (flexible times).

· Support the young person to access community activities safely and confidently.

· Encourage positive, polite, and safe communication in social settings.

· Build a trusting, supportive relationship to help promote emotional wellbeing.

· Use patience, consistency, and positive behaviour strategies to manage challenges.

· Promote independence, confidence, and positive choices.

· Ensure his safety at all times while enabling age-appropriate freedom.

About the Young Person

He is energetic, bright, and curious, and thrives with adults who are patient, consistent, and able to set clear but friendly boundaries. He enjoys getting out into the community and benefits from support that feels calm, predictable, and encouraging.

Ideal Candidate

· Experience with children or young people, ideally those with ADHD or behavioural needs.

· Calm, resilient, and able to use positive behaviour approaches.

· Good communication skills and able to model appropriate social interaction.

· Able to build trust and rapport through reliability, warmth, and consistency.

· Comfortable supporting activities in the community (e.g., walks, cafés, shops, sports).

· Reliable, compassionate, and committed to supporting a young person’s wellbeing.

· Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

· Full driving license with business insurance within your policy.

· Male worker preferred but not essential.

What We Offer

· A meaningful role where you can genuinely make a difference.

· Support from a welcoming family.

· Flexible scheduling within weekends.

· Opportunity to develop a strong, rewarding connection with a young person.
