Personal Care Assistant

Job Description
A PA is required to assist with various activities, enabling the employer to maintain an independent and fulfilling life that meets their chosen lifestyle.
Someone who appreciates one’s own space and privacy, and to be able to have someone who can engage in good laughter and banter, and someone to be able to talk to.

Job Purpose & work Duties:

• Domestic tasks e.g. laundry, housework and meal preparation.
• Shopping for make-up and clothes
• Outdoor walking/exercise
• Taking me to appointments
• Assisting with leisure activities
• To go out to places such as concerts, walking the dog, and the gym

Supporting with
• Mobility, ensuring the employers safety
• Personal care
• Undertaking activities for employer
• Ensuring employers home is clean, hygienic, and safe

Other requirements
• Working in a safe way and highlighting health and safety concerns
• Assisting with management of employer’s health risks
• Establish and maintain effective communication
• Maintaining confidentiality

Location
• Within the employer’s home and the local community of Dudley and the surrounding area
• To provide variable cover during periods of holiday and sickness
• Rate of Pay (£12.71 per hour)
• 4 Hours per week
• Additional 4 hours per week to be used flexibly

Requirements
• Experience of providing Care is essential
• Level 2 in Health and Social Care is preferred
• Someone who is aware of Fragile X syndrome and the full mutation
• Locally based
• Available to help at short notice is essential
• Consist
• Motivated
• Organised
• Driver is essential
• Good sense of humour
• Patient and empathetic
• Ability to understand and deliver the requirements of the employer
• Ability to undertake domestic activities
• Flexible, reliable, and honest
• Good general fitness
• An enhanced DBS check will be required
