Site Agent / Site Manager

TMS Maritime is expanding due to continued growth and is seeking a Site Agent / Site Manager. Key perks but not limited; 23 days annual leave, paid overtime and enhanced rates, company car with personal use, annual bonus (~10%) and long-term incentive plan and the opportunity to progress into Project Manager and wider leadership roles.

Why TMS Maritime? At TMS Maritime, you’ll be part of a leading UK marine and civil engineering contractor delivering high-profile coastal protection, harbour, flood defences, piling and dredging projects throughout the UK. We work across marine, tidal and inland waterways with a “can-do” culture that values safety, quality, integrity and practical solutions.

The Role: As Site Agent / Site Manager, you’ll take full ownership of daily site delivery across UK civil and marine infrastructure projects, ensuring work is safe, on programme and right first time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading site operations including labour, subcontractors, plant, materials, logistics and traffic management.
  • Promoting and maintaining a proactive health, safety and environmental culture through briefings, toolbox talks, inspections and audits.
  • Managing technical delivery: drawings, specifications, ITPs, inspections and testing, working with engineering teams to solve challenges.
  • Short-term planning, tracking progress and providing clear, concise reporting.
  • Coordinating all stakeholders on site; clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to keep delivery seamless.
  • Supporting commercial teams with accurate site data.
  • Projects often work within tidal and programme constraints, requiring strong planning, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.

Location & Working Pattern:

  • UK-wide, site-based role; you’ll be working across varied locations, not office based.
  • Regular travel and overnight stays will be required.
  • Typical hours: 07:30–17:30 with longer days dependent on programme and tidal windows.
  • Potential weekend work on busy programmes.

Essential Criteria

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
  • 3 + years’ experience in civil engineering site delivery, operating at Site Agent / Site Manager level.
  • Civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or heavy civils background is essential.
  • CSCS Site Manager/Supervisor card and SMSTS preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points).

If you thrive on solving real-world site challenges, working across locations UK-wide and making a visible impact every day, this is your next career step. Click to Apply!
