Personal Assistant Required

I am looking for a personal assistant who can support me with some hours after school during the week.

I am nearly 15 and have Down Syndrome.  I am very social and love being active, enjoying swimming and playing tennis.   I also love music and performing with my signing choir.  At home I like to relax with my colouring books and watching films and television.

Summary of Duties:

Meeting the individual, either during the week after school or on a weekend, and providing support for a period of time, accompanying them to access activities they enjoy.  This could include transport to weekly swimming lessons, choir practices or spending time together at home or pit and about in the local community.

To support and maintain independence within the home as well as out in the community.

It would be an advantage if the PA could drive and had access to their own car with the correct insurances.

Days required:  can be arranged 

Hours required:  Initially 4-6 hours

(Some hours during weekends and school holidays to support with social activities may also be required going forwards).

Hourly Rate:  £13.26

5.6 weeks rota of AL per year

Please note that you will be working directly for the Employer who is supporting the individual to manage the Direct Payment

Please note that you will be working directly for the Employer or the Employer who is supporting the Citizen to manage the Direct Payment. An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role, if you have a transferable DBS check please make this known on your application form.

Training will be tailored to the citizen’s needs. Please note the Employer will arrange this for you if the job is offered and accepted.
