Are you an experienced and qualified Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge?
U-Educate currently recruiting for a High-Level Teaching Assistant for a Secondary School based Portsmouth PO1. We are looking for suitable candidates who are available for immediate start. The school caters for students aged 11-16.
Job Description
- Reporting on student progress
- Planning, preparing and delivering learning activities with individual pupils, groups and whole classes
- Assessing, recording and reporting on pupils' progress
- Providing support to teachers and pupils
- Establishing and building relationships between pupils, parents, and teachers
- Managing classwork and ensuring safety
- Acting as a mentor and keyworker for vulnerable students across all age groups
- Developing knowledge base ensuring that you have the tools and knowledge to provide high quality support for students in the classroom and in one to one or small group work.
- Support the class teacher to manage classroom behaviour
- Provide feedback to the classroom teacher on student’s progress and development
Requirements
- Previous teaching assistant experience
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant/ HLTA Qualification or Childcare Degree
- Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children
- Up to date Safeguarding Training (You can undertake a free course with U-educate if you have not got a safeguarding certificate dated within the last 12 months)
