Job Title: Waking Night Female Personal Care Assistant
Responsible to: The employer – L’S parents
Hours: 22 Hours per week
Work Pattern: Tuesday and WednedayWednesday
22:00-09:00 plus extra hours + can be combined with dayshift hours position as well
Rate of pay: £18.60 (23.00 to 7.00 Monday to Friday and all weekend)
£14.31 at all other times
Location: Upper Bucklebury, RG7

This is a unique opportunity to work within our family home to help support our incredible daughter “L” who is 23 years old. She is a happy peaceful person who requires continuous one to one support. She is calm and has no challenging behaviours. She requires help with all her daily needs including personal care, communicating and movement around the home. You will join a dedicated team of family and Personal Assistants.
Extra hours are required to cover PA team holidays, sickness and parents respite
Why this role exists - Purpose
To ensure L is kept safe during the night
To ensure her NIV (Non invasive ventilation) device and its use is supervised
To respond to L’s hygiene needs
To closely monitor L when she is having an episode
To respond to L’s nutritional needs
To undertake light domestic and administrative duties to support L’s family and daytime PAs

Specific tasks:
1. Ensure L is always observed in her bedroom and via video
2. To undertake specific observations as needed e.g. SATS, heart rate, temperature
3. To ensure L is correctly and safely positioned whilst in bed
4. To supervise L’s use of the NIV device during the night
5. To ensure the NIV device is working correctly, if not to report any issues promptly
6. To write up the night-time shift notes to enable correct monitoring and handover to the day shift
7. To check L’s hygiene and change her pad as required
8. To be prompt in responding to L’s needs when she has an episode and apply the agreed protocol
9. To give L a drink at agreed intervals, occasionally a light snack too
10. To undertake relevant cleaning and housework to support L’s family and meal preparations to support day staff needs
11. To undertake admin support e.g., printing L’s monitoring sheets.

You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.
