U-educate is seeking to appoint a confident and well-organized Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a friendly team at one of our Portsmouth schools.

The school is looking for a person who has the following:

• Recent experience in a UK school
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) grade C or above
• An HLTA qualification (desirable)
• Experience working with teachers to deliver learning activities to whole classes
• Confidence to cover absence when necessary
• The ability to plan, evaluate pupils' progress, and adapt lesson plans when necessary
• Experience in communicating pupil outcomes to class teachers
• An interest in working with the Inclusion Leader to carry out individual assessments
• Skills to work with pupils to accelerate specific learning and emotional needs

The successful candidate will have excellent behaviour management skills, a positive and caring manner, and excellent communication skills, including a sense of humour. You will need to be flexible and committed to providing the children in your care with the best learning experience possible and having and demonstrating high expectations.

This position is suitable for a TA looking for a step up, a qualified HLTA, or a teacher looking for less responsibility than a class teacher but providing opportunities to work with children within a key stage and across the school.
