SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced and qualified Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge?

U-Educate are currently recruiting for 6 Teaching Assistants for 3 different provision sites for a SEMH secondary school based in Basingstoke, RG22. We have a high demand for these roles with immediate starts. 

Job Description

  • Supervision of students on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Provide additional learning support as identified
  • Support may involve personal care
  • Supporting SEMH Needs
  • Engage, motivate and encourage students to complete work set
  • Make sure all students are focused and on track to meet their lesson objectives
  • Provide feedback to the classroom teacher on student’s progress and development
  • Putting into practise individual Educational, Social, Behavioural and Personal Care Plans
  • Attending to student’s social, mental and emotional needs

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an educational setting supporting students with SEMH
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Experience with SEMH
  • Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children
  • Up to date Safeguarding Training (You can undertake a free course with U-educate if you have not got a safeguarding certificate dated within the last 12 months)
