U-Educate are currently recruiting for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for schools in Portsmouth. We have a high demand for these roles with start dates ranging between October Half Term and January 2025.
Job Description
- Supervision of students on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Provide additional learning support as identified
- Support may involve personal care
- Supporting SEN and SEMH Needs
- Engage, motivate and encourage students to complete work set
- Make sure all students are focused and on track to meet their lesson objectives
- Provide feedback to the classroom teacher on student’s progress and development
- Putting into practise individual Educational, Social, Behavioural and Personal Care Plans
- Attending to student’s physical, mental and emotional needs
Requirements
- Previous experience within an educational setting supporting students with SEN
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Experience with SLD, MLD and SEMH
- Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children
- Up to date Safeguarding Training (You can undertake a free course with U-educate if you have not got a safeguarding certificate dated within the last 12 months)
