We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in one of our SEN Schools in Fareham.

Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for SEN, you will play a crucial role in the educational and personal development of students with varying needs. Your responsibilities will include providing tailored support in the classroom, assisting with personal care, and fostering a positive learning environment. This role requires a blend of patience, empathy, and enthusiasm to help our students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual Support: Work closely with students who have special educational needs, adapting learning activities to meet their specific needs and abilities.
  • Personal Care: Provide assistance with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility, ensuring that students feel comfortable and dignified.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support the class teacher in delivering lessons, helping to maintain an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all students.
  • Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior strategies, promoting a safe and respectful atmosphere within the classroom.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's development.
  • Record Keeping: Assist in monitoring and recording student progress, contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs) and regular assessments.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to enhance the overall educational experience for students with SEN.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs in any capacity, not just a School setting.
  • Understanding of different learning difficulties and strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children.
