Hygiene Operative

Hours:   14:30 - 22:30    Monday to Friday

Job Purpose:   

Responsible for cleaning the factory (fabrication and machinery) ensuring a high standard of hygiene is maintained by following Standard Operating Procedures and cleaning schedules.

Key Accountabilities:

Hands-on cleaning of machinery, walls and floors etc. (factory deep cleaning)

Dismantle and re-assemble machinery to allow thorough clean.

Using cleaning equipment such as the foaming machine, pressure washer and hose pipes.

Assist the team in developing and continually improving written procedures and hygiene standards.

Completion of relevant paperwork.

Completion of the COSHH training programme would be an advantage (Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health).

Working in a safe and hygienic manner.

Requirements:

Must have an excellent employment record

Must be flexible and be willing to work overtime when required

Must be self motivated, proactive and have the ability to use own initiative

Manual handling and lifting weights of up to 20kgs are involved in this role.

Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail

Must be able to work to tight deadlines

Should be an active team member

Previous experience of cleaning machinery within the food industry and training in chemical handling would be an advantage however full training will be given

Should be able to participate in problem solving activities
