Hours of work:   14:00 - 22:30    Monday to Friday

Job Purpose:

To ensure adherence to cleaning schedules ensuring the factory is cleaned and maintained to the required standards, working safely and efficiently.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Supervise hygiene activities, communicating with managers and engineers on any issues that may affect line start up and achievement of both the manufacturing plan and engineering activities.
  • Deliver KPIs ensuring that all cleaning schedules are followed and completed by the team.
  • Ensure safety, health, welfare and environmental awareness of all staff in department at all times by ensuring all are trained and aware of all relevant procedures.
  • Manage the performance and development of all team members, ensuring that they are trained to at least the appropriate level and that training files are up to date at all times.
  • Train the team on and ensure they follow Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs).
  • Manage absence, disciplinary and grievance matters as required with support from the People Department as appropriate.
  • Ensure equipment is set up for the following shift start up to enhance smooth running and team work.
  • Manage and control hours within the department to ensure maximum efficiency of output and appropriate cost controls.
  • Ensure availability of consumables and chemicals for the team.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement within the team, processes and systems on both the shift and site.
  • Achievement of all Company, customer and regulatory standards in relation to health, safety, environmental, food safety and hygiene.

 

Key Personal attributes:

Essential

Experience in Food Production Environment                             Previous supervisory experience

Excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety                    Trouble shooting skills

Excellent communication skills                                                 Can work on own initiative

Chemical handling experience                                                   COSHH trained                                                           

Desirable

Health and Safety training e.g. IOSHH

Flexibility of working hours

Experience of supervising hygiene activities
