L is a 19 year old young man who is Autistic with ADHD he has experienced seizures although not for some time, he has some facial movements or ticks.
L loves music and using the computer he likes to print things too. L has high levels of anxiety leaving his home, but he does go into the garden and when it is dark he will go to the top of the street with his dogs.
7 hours per week up to £16.50 per hour depending on experience.
Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.
Supporting L in the home environment with activities he enjoys until you get to know each other. The aim is to build confidence to access the community together.
Someone who has experience of supporting others with learning disabilities with knowledge of the associated challenging behaviours, L can lash out when he is anxious.
L has no sense of danger so you will need to be alert to possible dangers such as road safety.
Someone who is reliable & a good communicator with the motivation to develop trust and understanding in the role.
Someone who has the skills to give L support with building confidence, someone who is interactive & encouraging in order to improve and develop social skills.
