Job Title: Emergency Nurse Practitioner
Salary / Grade: Weekday £40 and Weekend £45 per hour
Location: Sandwell
Must have experience in an A&E environment and able to suture, plaster, wound closure.
Job Summary:
The post holder will undertake assessment and treatment of patients in an Urgent Care setting who may present with complex and/or chronic illnesses and/or injury; to determine a clinical diagnosis, treatment and appropriate discharge as indicated as well as maintaining patient records.
To ensure a high quality patient centred service.
Job Responsibilities and duties:
- Undertake highly specialised clinical assessments, diagnose, treat and discharge patients with a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries.
- Statutory and voluntary disciplines/groups in order to provide a seamless service to the patients and their carers and prevent hospital admission where urgent care is required.
- To ensure that patient records and documentation are maintained in line with NMC.
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant company policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, to ensure that the practice complies with NHS/NHS England/CCG
- Ensure safe storage, rotation and disposal of vaccines and drugs is undertaken.
- To treat minor injuries without necessarily having to refer to a doctor.
- Qualified to assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients with certain injuries
- Reporting potential risks identified
- To adapt communication skills to meet the needs of patients who may have barriers to understanding
