About Service User
S is a 44 year old male with cerebral palsy. S is non-verbal but communicates with sound and hand gestures. S is able to walk but requires mobility support in the form of hand/arm holding and a wheelchair at times. S requires support to eat, drink and use the toilet. An element of personal care is therefore required. S requires constant care and supervision, he cannot be left unattended. S enjoys being driven to different locations in order to people-watch, for example parks or town centres. It’s important, however, that S gets out of the car and goes for short walks in order to keep him mobile. S also enjoys swimming and is a fair swimmer, he would require close supervision when in the pool.
