Job Title: Registered Home Manager Children's Care
Location: Kent,Stoke
Hours: Full-Time
Reports to: Responsible Individual
Salary : negotiable
Main purpose of job:
To lead on the provision of high standards of nurturing care to children and young people, aged eight to eighteen years, who have experienced traumatic life experiences, and who present with emotional and behavioral difficulties. To use therapeutic parenting approaches to care for children and young people to help them reach their full potential.
To manage the home and lead the team. To oversee effective safeguarding, care, and support for the children/ young people in your care.
Main purpose of job:
- To register with Ofsted as Manager for the home.
- To recognise, respond to, record, and refer any safeguarding concerns in line with the home’s Safeguarding Policy
- To undertake Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) training and fulfil the DSO role, with support from the Responsible Individual as needed.
- To contribute to the development and monitoring of each child/ young person’s risk assessment and emotional/ behavioural support plans.
- To recognise and meet children and young people’s individual needs.
- To promote good health and well-being for all children and young people.
- To treat each child and young person with dignity and respect.
- To help each child/ young person to express their views, wishes and feelings; and advocate for them when needed.
- To support and encourage children/ young people to be central to their care planning.
- Where appropriate, and as agreed with the team around the child, to offer on-going contact or support to young people that have left the home.
- Alongside the Registered Manager, to oversee and plan for visits and calls for the children/ young people with their families or significant others.
- To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested.
KNOWLEDGE:
- How to meet the emotional, physical, and developmental needs of children and young people.
- Knowledge of the needs of children/ young people who are looked after.
- Knowledge of the effects of trauma, abuse, and attachment disruption.
- Working knowledge of Working together to Safeguard Children (2018).
- Working knowledge of the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF)
DESIREABLE:
- Working knowledge of Dyadic Developmental Practice.
