Attendance Administrator
U-educate are currently recruiting for an Attendance Admin to work in school based in Chelmsley Wood, B37. This is full time, permanent position due to start as soon as possible.
We are seeking to appoint this role to support the senior leadership team for a secondary school to track students attendance and welfare throughout the school day.
As a attendance officer your main duties will include:
- Monitoring daily student attendance records and identify patterns of absences or tardiness.
- Communicating with parents or guardians regarding unexplained student absences and arrange meetings if necessary.
- Implementing and manage attendance improvement plans for students with chronic absenteeism.
- Liaising with teachers, school counsellors, and administrators to address and support students’ attendance issues.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate reports on student attendance for school records and compliance with state laws.
- You will be required to provide high quality, well planned pastoral support and guidance to pupils and families to promote high expectations, raise aspirations and facilitate academic progress.
- Check attendance of students at Alternative Provision.
- Chase and update all marks
- Ensure that all administration, data input and analysis in relation to student attendance is completed to an exceptionally high standard
The role requires diplomacy, understanding of vulnerable students and an ability to resolve conflict in a calm and rational manner.
Requirements
- A positive and committed individual who will be able to take responsibility for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our children throughout the school day.
- Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
- Up to date Safeguarding Training (You can undertake a free course with U-educate if you have not got a safeguarding certificate dated from September 2023)
- Secondary school experience preferred but not essential
