• Monday - Thursday: 8.40am - 5.20pm
• Friday: 8.40am - 4pm
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Social Worker to join our dedicated Learning Disability Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with adults with learning disabilities and their support networks, enabling them to live full and fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Perform thorough assessments of adults with learning disabilities, providing support and advice in line with the Care Act 2014.
- Apply Relevant Legislation: Demonstrate advanced skills in applying the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and Mental Health Act (MHA).
- Complex Case Management: Effectively manage complex cases, including Court of Protection (CoP) work and Community Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
- Risk Management: Utilize positive risk-taking strategies to support individuals' wellbeing and autonomy.
- Strong Communication: Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Legislation Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Support and Advice: Provide support and advice to adults with learning disabilities and their circles of support.
- Hybrid Working: Balance office working and working from home, with the ability to attend community appointments as needed.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Social Work Qualification: A recognized qualification in social work.
- Experience in Learning Disabilities Sector: Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities or transferable skills from a related sector.
- Advanced Legislation Knowledge: Strong knowledge and experience with the Care Act, MCA, and MHA.
- Assessment Skills: Proven ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and manage complex cases.
- BIA or AMHP: Qualification as a Best Interests Assessor (BIA) or Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) is preferred.
- Mosaic Knowledge: Previous experience with Mosaic or similar case management systems.

- Sector Experience: Previous experience in the learning disability sector or relevant transferable skills.
