About the service user
M is 12 years old, she is Autistic and has PDA (pathological demand avoidance).M enjoys gaming, mostly educational games such as Minecraft, watching YouTube and listening to eclectic music. She is sensory seeking and enjoys lots of arts and crafts in particular those that involve gluing or painting. M also likes drives in the car.M likes to have a plan of what she is doing and when.
Hours and rate of Pay
Casual hours 146 available paid at £12 per hour.Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.
What you would be doing
Supporting M to work on independence skills, engaging with another adult other than family, building relationships.Support will take place in the family home initially until you get to know each other, working towards a bus trip to Cambridge for example to browse the shops or going to the cinema together.
The person I would like
You will have experience of supporting others in the community, a knowledge/understanding of Autism and the challenges it can bring.It is important that you are friendly & reliable, someone who is happy and willing to be interactive and encouraging in order to improve and develop skills.If you can drive and have access to your own vehicle that would be great but is not essential.
