Location: This role will involve working flexibly from home, across Brandon location and other locations as required and working remotely using client's technology

The Nursing and Care home Manager is accountable to the Head of Quality for the effective management of a number of geographically identified Care and Nursing Homes. They have a responsibility to people supported by Employer, their families, staff, Executive Leadership Team, the Board of Trustees, Commissioners, Regulators and other Stakeholders.
The Manager has primary responsibility for the provision and quality of care and support, staff leadership and management, financial management, contract management, business development, stakeholder relations and governance.
Leadership & Staff Management
Be responsible for managing and leading a team of nurses and Registered Managers in delivering a high standard of individualised care actively partaking in roles and responsibilities around quality improvement initiatives, staff development, facilities management and business development.
You will provide clinical management and leadership to the area nursing team; acting as a role model to foster a culture of professional development and excellent standards of care, promote positive team building and set priorities, objectives, and goals.
Connect the area with the overall direction and strategy of the organisation and implement local strategy in line with this.
Provide high quality and visible leadership to all area staff, ensuring that the workforce operates at levels of high capability and competence; role model effective leadership behaviours at all times.
Work with internal partners to strengthen the performance and development of the area.
Promote effective engagement with and involvement of staff, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure all aspects of workforce management and governance– recruitment, retention, training, development, supervision, communication, appraisal, performance management, succession planning, compliance with policies and procedures, employment relations, pay and reward – are managed effectively, with clear systems, processes and practices in place.
Ensure that direct reports and their staff are informed, engaged, motivated and able to undertake their roles effectively.
Actively contribute to transformation and improvement programmes to deliver its objectives of improved care and support, enhanced staff experience, strengthened financial performance; provide visible leadership to the development of an organisation culture that naturally innovates, designs, improves and performs at a high level.
To co-ordinate and manage the workplace for student nurse placements, liaising with schools of nursing and universities.
Education & Trainings
- Current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Relevant ILM7 or degree level management qualification (or Relevant evidence of gaining that level of knowledge through Professional experience) Qualification
- Level 2 literacy and numeracy
- Full driving licence
Achievements & Experience
Minimum 3 years operational management experience with a successful track record of leadership in:
Working in a CQC regulated social care sector
- Experience of clinical supervision of Nurses
- Proven record on leading revalidation of Nurses.
- Managing budgets
- Staff leadership, motivation and performance management
- Developing and delivering high quality new services and transforming services
- Contract management, developing customer relationships and consulting with a range of stakeholders
- Respite and emergency response services
- Commissioning priorities
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, particularly in relation to quality assurance.
- Understanding of Person Centred approaches.
