Support Worker in CB1

£16.50 per hour

Support for a 19 year old young man who has a visual impairment and severe Dyspraxia.N is very knowledgeable and has a keen interest in politics, history and languages, he would very much like to join “Toastmasters Club” he likes to be active and enjoys swimming, cycling, tennis as well as singing.N is a pleasure to be around and has many “fans”

10 hours per week – split over 2/3 days ideally.£16.50 per hourEnhanced DBS clearance is essential.

Supporting to develop independence skills such as learning to use public transport, money management paying for bus trips, buying something from the shop or entry to an activity, cooking a meal from scratch.Boosting confidence in social situations and accessing community activities such as swimming or cycling.It is important that you have experience of supporting others in the community, with some knowledge of Dyspraxia and the difficulties it can bring or a willingness to learn.You will need to be happy to swim/cycle with N and get involved with other activities.
You will have adequate knowledge of cooking to be able to cook a meal together, this is a key skill N is keen to develop.It is important that you are reliable, honest and trustworthy, someone who is willing to be interactive in order to encourage and develop skills and who possesses the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.
