Hours Per Week: 24 hours (part time)

Salary: £17 - £23 per hour dependent on experience

We are pleased to announce that we have a vacancy for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse at St Neots Location. The Practice Nurse will play an important role in the future of the service and will be part of a wider team, who can be agile, innovative, and future focused.

The successful candidate must have experience of patients with a variety of long-term health conditions, be comfortable with change, able to work autonomously and keen to work in non-traditional care systems. A willingness to learn and develop their skills and undertake training relevant to their role is also essential, with an openness to support the wider nursing team.

We have a part-time position available for 24 hours (the full-time for us is 40 hours per week).

The successful candidate must:

  • be a certified Registered Nurse
  • have a current NMC registration
  • have knowledge of patients with long term conditions
  • be familiar with Patient Group Directions (PGD’s) and associated policy
  • be able to work autonomously
  • prioritise, organise and manage own workload
  • have a willingness to learn and develop
  • be able to work collaboratively with the wider team
  • Produce accurate, contemporaneous and complete records, consistent with legislation, policies and procedures.

Practice Nurse Core Responsibilities will involve:

  • Venepuncture 
  • Blood pressure
  • ECG
  • Height/Weight/BMI
  • Health Promotion
  • Childhood and Adult Immunisations
  • Wound Care
  • Contraception
  • Cervical Screening
  • Spirometry
  • Long-term condition management such as Diabetes, COPD, Asthma

Some experience of long-term condition management and cervical screening is essential.
