SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join a secondary school in Hailsham as a SEN Unit Worker.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist support to children and young people with identified special educational needs. The successful candidate will have experience in working with children and young people with SEN, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to engage and motivate learners. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the SEN Code of Practice, the ability to create and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and students and the ability to work as part of a team.
The role requires the successful candidate to provide quality and targeted support for the children and young people within the unit, to work closely with other professionals and to be able to create and implement individualized learning programmes. The successful candidate will also need to be able to monitor and evaluate student progress and use appropriate strategies to enable their learning.
